Long Island Sound has always been accepted as one of America's historic waterways.  From late April to the end of October, thousands of boaters ply the Sound and her tributaries for the great cruising, taking advantage of the abundance of available ports of call and anchorages.  Click here to see Long Island Sound!

Associated with this famous waterway are the numerous combinations of natural hazards associated with a northeastern coastline, which inevitably produce a proportional amount of casualties.
